I thought it was about time I updated.
The weekend was good. Stefanie and I went into the city on Saturday to celebrate my b-day. We ate at our restaurant in Little Italy. Had a glass of red wine with dinner. Then we wandered around the Village to try to find a decent looking bar to go to. We ended up at a mexican restaurant/bar that Stefanie had been to before. I had a strawberry margarita and a sex on the beach. And we got 2 free shots each from the bartenders cause we're girls. lol It was fun, and we didn't get too drunk. Nor did I start crying(as I'm apt to do after drinking) or have a hangover the next day. YAY! haha
Sunday, my partner and I finished editing our film. We showed in in class today. It was nerveracking, but to my surprise, everyone seemed to really like it. It was cool. I hope I can do a good job with my second project. :\ No partners for this one. I handed in a script for it, but I don't know about it. I asked the teacher to email me about what he thinks. We have to shoot it by next weekend already. Yikes!! I need actors!! 2 guys and a girl (no pizza place lol).
Yeah, not too long of an update I guess. Ah well.
I have a lot of reading to catch up on, so I'm gonna attempt to do that. |

Having possibly the worst birthday ever... happy 21st to me... :*(
4 more years of having our lives fucked up by the dipshit. Fuck. This country can be better than this. I just don't understand how people can be so blind. In the past four years, Bush not only fucked up our foreign relations big time but our economy is a fucking mess. And people think that the next four years are just gonna turn themselves around without a major change being needed???? Come the fuck on. There goes everything. The economy, civil rights, any respect at all that the rest of the world might have had for us. More war. More death. More fucking Bush. |

I'm at work right now.
I registered for classes on Sunday night. Here are my classes for next semester:
AVF 47 - Advanced Film Production AVF 110 - Writing for Film & TV ITAL 002 - Italian 2 MATH 012 - Math Excursions (fucking core classes - I HATE MATH!! grr)
AVF 157 - Film Genres with Prof. Braun was full. :( But he said he'd sign me in, so hopefully that will happen. For now though, I'm regisered for a Jewish Studies core course (Literature of the Halocaust), which I'll drop once I get signed into the film class.
This week is busy for me. Lots to do.
Last night, I had another Venice meeting. I'm so fucking excited to go!!!!!! I'll register for that class and pay for everything on Monday probably, but I won't believe that I'm actually doing this until I'm on that plane to Italy. haha
Today, right after work, I have F. Scott Fitzgerald, which I want to skip as a birthday present to myself, but I'm gonna go just because I want my midterm grade(don't think I did too well... fuck me :( ). Then, it's back to the room to finish my Film Authorship paper and shower. Film Production. Editing for about an hour and a half with my partner. *breathes* Stefanie and I plan on going to the mall and then getting my birthday ice cream cake to eat while watching the election returns (cause we're dorks). LoL
Tm is my 21st birthday!! I am truly gonne be old tm. The day isn't gonna be too celebritory though. :( I have class 9-10am, then meeting with my new advisor to beg him to help me graduate on time, then editing with my partner from about 10:30am-4pm, rounding off the night with class from 6-10pm. Ouch. Well, at least it's my favorite class. :\
Don't know what else I have to share. So I better get back to looking busy at work here. |

I'm about to try to start to work on my first paper of the semester. Yes, that's right. First one. What a lazy ass semester. Seriously.
Today was a pretty good day all in all. Work was okay. F. Scott - eh. That class is hopeless. We have a midterm on Thursday. No idea what that's gonna be like. Sucks cause we only have 3 grades in that class - Midterm, Term Paper, Final. Ick. Nice lady, but not so good of a teacher. Had a midterm in Film Production, which was easy and I aced it most likely. And I got to see my crush. And we made like 10,000 babies. Yeah... *slaps herself* Two ideas for my final film are due on Thursday. I have one vague idea of something I'd wanna do, but I really need to get cracking on seriously thinking about this.
Long Day tm. Italian class, then I plan on going and scoping out the internships at the career center afterward. And then I have my first Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society meeting. Gym. Class till 10pm.
So, what sucks is that the film class I wanna take in Italy might not count toward my major. GRRRR Apparently, they didn't ask the Comm. Department beforehand, so they don't know what's gonna happen with that. And it would be a waste of money for me to take a useless class, so I might have to switch to the Comparative Literature class. That would suck cause it seems like a lot of work, and I really want to be able to enjoy my time in Venice and not read a lot. And plus, I'm actually interested in the film class. I don't know why the Film Dept is being a bastard about it. It's a FILM class, I'm a FILM major. Umm, Yeah. Fucking morons.
I register on Sunday night. Right now, I'm definitly gonna take Advanced Film Production, Italian 2, and Scriptwriting. I want to get into the Film Genres: Horror class with Prof. Braun, but there's only 3 spaces left in it. :( I hope I can get in. For my fifth class, I was thinking of taking a creative writing class. But I have to make sure it would count toward my minor first. I hate that I can't take classes that interest me simply because I can't afford to take anything but what will get me my degree. *sigh*
Okay. I must go and be productive now I suppose. |

I'm obessed with 'This is Last Time' and 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane. I've been listening to them nonstop on Launch video. I realllllyyy need to get their CD damnit!!
The other group's film shoot yesterday went about the same as ours did on Saturday pretty much, so now I don't feel as bad. We're all beginners.
I had a rock identification test soon in Geology Lab. Fuck me. :( Not gonna do well on that. Can't even study for it. I'm sorry, but all rocks look the same to me. I don't mean to be rockist or anything. I have a feeling I'm gonna not do too well in Geology. Fucking core classes can bite my pale white ass.
On Saturday night, I went to see I <3 Huckabees with Lauren and Krissy and their friends. The movie had some great moments, but overall it was a little disappointing to me. It just got too wordy at points. The interactions with the characters is where the movie's strength is, not with long monologues about existentialism or whatever. But I'd recommend seeing it, cause when it was good it was really good. All the actors did a great job. Mark Walberg's character was probably the best part of the movie. Jude Law is fucking gorgegous. And I love Noami Watts.
Time for fucking Geology.

Filming went... okay. I dunno. I think I'm being overly critical. But I wanted it to be a little more professional and it didn't feel that way. Co-directing is hard. When we first started, we were burning a lot of film really fast. So, I tried not to let us do too many takes, but then we ended up with about half a roll of extra film left when we finished all of our shots. :\ I apologized and suggested that we just film some pick up shots so the rest of the roll wouldn't be wasted. Oh well. We're all first timers at this, right? Hopefully, the film will come out okay, cause the sun kept coming in and out from behind clouds, so that could have fucked with our exposures if the shutter wasn't just right. So, pray that our film comes out okay. Yeah, I'm anal retentive when it comes to things like this, but I'm sure I'm over reacting. *breathes* Anyway, we were losing light, so we decided to film the other team's film tm. Cause we didn't want to rush them. We'll see how they do compared to us.
I just realized how depressing, boring, and lonely my 21st birthday is going to be. I'm still gonna go to classes, and Stefanie will have work. Stefanie and I are going out that weekend to celebrate, but I'm not sure what we're doing yet. I'll just miss not being able to have my friends from home with me, I guess. Stefanie probably felt the same last year when she turned 21.
Halloween is going to suck too. I hate friend related holidays. Mucho depressing.

Kasey reminded me of something today. Winter's coming - and what does Heather love most about winter? Well, my friends, winter is a time that guys are more apt to wear ribbed turtleneck sweaters. My personal favorite color for such sweaters is orange. I picture guys in orange ribbed turtleneck sweaters, like guys picture girls naked. It's true. And yes, I'm aware that I'm a weirdo. I don't know what it is, but it's H-O-T-T. I mean, of course, the guy has to be able to pull the ribbed turtleneck look off. Not too skinny, just a little chubby. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. An alright looking guy in a ribbed turtleneck sweater gets an automatic upgrade to cuteness. A cute guy in one, well, he gets shot right up there to yummyness (or is it spelled yumminess? lol). I'm hoping fashion has not reared it's ugly head at me this winter season by dictating that ribbed turtleneck sweaters are not "in style." It would absolutely break my heart.
I'm in a rather odd mood if you can't tell. lol
So, I believe I am making process in talking to this kid I have a crush on. I asked him today if he was a senior. I learned he was a junior. (Score!) And he kicked my ass. Really. I made a smart ass remark to him and he kicked me. lol The other day when said some sacrastic, he hit the brim of my hat down. He has patted my back too. Maybe I shouldn't read into this as flirting. Cause guys don't flirt with me. So, I have to try not to invest too much into this. Nothing like getting your hopes up for absolutely no reason. :\ I hate crushes. Urgh. Bad Heather. On Tuesday I'm gonna ask him about what film classes I should go on to take and see if he can help me out with what to take next semester or whenever. So, see - I'm trying. *shrugs* Any suggestions from those more socially inclined? lol
Stefanie and I went to Old Navy tonight. I breast that store. I bought black pants (I needed them for the film shoot on Saturday), two sweaters, two long sleeved t-shirts, and a purse. LoL Bad Heather. I'm such a total girl when it comes to that store though. lol
Tm is Friday. Woah. |

I've got a crush. *smacks herself across the face* Grr. All I can say is it gives me a reason to keep going through the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I'm bored. I did nothing with my "day off" (I have Italian til 10am then my next class isn't until 6pm). I went to the gym. Then I was watching Annie on HBO, and fell asleep for about 2 hrs. I did my Italiano homework. That's about it. lol Ah well. We all need to waste time every now and then.
I love Maggie Gyllenhaal. I have the purdiest picture of her as my desktop now.
So, yeah, not much really going on since I last wrote.
We shoot our film project on Saturday. I'm pretty nervous about that. We don't have an actress yet. :\

My absentee ballot came today. It's about damn time. Rocking my swing-state vote, baby!! KERRY/EDWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, only about 16 days till my birthday (Nov 3rd - the day after Election Day, hopefully the country will give me a new president for my birthday). The big 21. Wow. Time flies. I'm so old. Dude. I'm so totally gonna be that woman who has a nervous breakdown when she turns 30. lol
Things are going. Time's going by fast, but it seems like things are moving really slowly (this makes sense in my head lol).
Class updates: Italian I - Going nicely. Got a 99% on my first test. :o)
F. Scott Fitzgerald - Boring most of the time. She just lectures, rarely are their discussions. :(
Film Production - Okay. We're gonna be shooting our first film project this weekend. I'm nervous. **We need a female actor (NO TALKING OR ANYTHING TO MEMORIZE!! It's a silent, b/w film), so if anyone can help us out with that, I'll love you forever!!**
Film Authorship - I breast this class so much. We're almost done with the Altman part of the class, and will soon move on to Kubrick. We have a paper on Altman due on my birthday. I'm doing it on the mysogny or lack there of in Altman's films. Should be an interesting paper to work on hopefully.
Geology - Urgh. Hate this class. We had a test on Friday. Not sure I did too well on it cause I hardly studied and I just had the 'I don't fucking care' attitude about it. I did, however, do okay on my lab test, so that's one good Geology grade.
Stefanie and I went to Blockbuster tonight. We had rented The Exorcist, which I had never seen, and the last 20 minutes were unwatchable cause the disc was scratched to shit. Fuck. :( We got the late charge earsed to make up for it. Nice. I'm still pissed that I couldn't see the last couple minutes!! GRR!! We rented Themla and Louise (cause Stefanie's never seen it all the way through and hot Brad Pitt and delicious Michael Madsen are good anytime at all for me) and Young Adam (cause I heard it was good).
I missed the deadline for contributing to the literary magazine here. I wanted to do it this time too. Hmm. Oh well. I haven't written anything remotely good lately anyway.
Let's see what else.
I'm a loser.
Yeah.
That's about it. |

I'm in a weird, rare optimistic mood today. Work this morning went by fast, my F. Scott Fitzgerald class wasn't nearly as boring and didnt seem long either, and I actually participated a lot today. Hopefully, this will continue into my Film Production class that's coming up soon. We were supposed to shoot some practice footage today, but I dunno now, cause it's all crappy out and looks like it will downpour any minute. Plus it's dark and overcast out, so we wouldn't have any light to work with. We'll see.
I'm totally rocking da coolest tshirt today. It says VOTE FOR PEDRO on it. Yeah, I'm awesome. lol
This random guy came into my F. Scott today and was selling tickets to the comedy club Dangerfield's in NYC. The tickets are normally $40 and are good for two people. But he was selling them for $8. I got one. I figure, even if it's bullshit, it was only $8, and if it's for real, then woo hoo a cheap comedy show at a place that gets pretty good comics. And it's good for a year. Good times.
I applyed for my passport yesterday finally. Here's hoping it comes with plenty of time to spare before Jan.
That's all for now. I guess I'll get ready for class and such. |

MATTY NAYNAY was AMAZING last night!! :o)
Yeah, the crowd definitly sucked ass though, and Irving Plaza's not that great of a venue. Everyone was fucking drunk and annoying as fuck. GRRRRRRRRR!!!! They were really disrepectful to other ppl and the opening acts and worst of all to Matty. I was kinda pissed that Stefanie (a Matty virgin) had to experience Matt under not so wonderful circumstances. She was still impressed with Matt though, and I think I made her a fan. :o) YAY!! Making the world a Matty place, one person at a time. haha
Even though it was a crap audience and Matt was a little upset about that, he still gave an awesome show. He shared some wittyness, but since he knew the audience wasn't cool, he didn't go all out. It my first time seeing him with the band, so that was exciting. And they sounded great (even though the sound system in Irving Plaza wasn't). Oh, Charlotte Martin was great too - she was the first opening act. Ingram Hill were after her as the second opening act, but I wasn't too immpressed with them.
No camera with me so no pics. But someone posted some here if anyone is interested: http://p069.ezboard.com/fmattnathanson38169frm6.showMessageRange?topicID=2306.topic&start=1&stop=20 Matt looked HOTT!! ;)
We had to catch a train so I couldn't stick around after the show and give Matt a hug. I hear that he didn't come out post-show anyway, so oh well. But hopefully, he knows that there were some people at the show who were not drunken assholes and were actually listening to him and showing respect.

I watched The United States of Leland tonight. Stellar cast. Ryan Gosling was great. Don Ceadle. Kevin Spacey. Jena Malone. All great. The movie and story were good stuff I thought. Lot of good dialogue. I'd recommend it. |

~Friday~ Stefanie and I went to the movies to see Ladder 49. I liked it. For what it was, it was a good movie. It was very sad, as you can probably gather from the trailers. John Trovola and Joaquin Phoenix were great. Go see it if you feel like doing some tearing up/hardcore crying.
~Saturday~ My brother(Greg) and his gf(Julianne) came in around 3pm. We went into NYC. Ate lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp for dinner.
We went to see a sneak preview of Team America. SO fucking funny!! Trey Parker and Matt Stone are great at commenting on this crazy fucked up world of ours. LoL It's a lot of sick humor just to warn ya'all out there. And if you can't take a joke - meaning you're gonna think that they are being racists and shit - then stay at home. If you're cool and have a good sense of humor about life, then see this and you'll laugh pretty fucking hard.
We hung out for a bit until we had to get to Lincoln Center for House of Flying Daggers (NY Film Fest). It was really awesome too, cause we got there and they had barracades set up and ppl were spreading rumors that the director, Zhang Yimou (also the director of Hero), and Zhang Ziyi (the female star of the film and also in Hero) were gonna show up. Mind you, this was a midnight showing of the film, so we doubted it, but we stayed out there until midnight. We were about to abandon hope and go in for the movie, but then a car pulled up and Zhang Yimou got out!! He walked by us and posed for the photographers and signed autographs. We were right near the barracade too, so we was like RIGHT THERE!! Then Zhang Ziyi showed up and did the same!! It was like being at a movie preimere cause there were a bunch of photographers taking their pictures and news ppl there. So cool!! :o) I wish I had a camera or something for them to sign. :( Ah well. It was just a cool experience to have nonetheless. :o) Once we were all in there, both Zhang Yimou and Zhang Ziyi even came out onto the stage before the movie started and said a few words. The movie itself - it was an excellent film until toward the end when it became an okay movie to me. The story just started sagging and it got drawn out and too much about love. It remained beautifully photographed, directed, acted, and chreographed all the way through though, it was just the story that lulled off. Some AMAZING fight scenes!!!! But I liked Hero better, cause I just had issues with House of Flying Daggers' story at the end.
We got home at like 4am. It was rough. We were on a train with ALL drunk kids. NOT FUN!!!!!! Esp when you're exhausted and just wanna go home and go to bed.
~Sunday~ Greg, Julianne, and I woke up early. Urgh. Went into NYC again. lol Ate lunch at Pig N Whistle. Went to see the play Reckless. As soon as we showed up, we saw Mary-Louise Parker get out of a taxi and walk in the stage door. And then a little while later, Rosie Perez showed up. haha We didn't stop either of them cause we didn't want to bother them. But it was cool seeing them. The play was really good. It was funny and crazy. Mary-Louise Parker was so amazng. I love her.
We went right back to the train station after that and got back to my dorm around 6:30pm. Greg and Julianne left right away.
GREAT WEEKEND!! Full of movies and a play and good food!!!! :o) YAY!!
--------
Now, I'm REALLY FREAKIN exhausted of course. But I resisted the urge to nap. I did laundry and finished my storyboards for Film Production instead. Go me. Now, methinks I do need to hit the sack though.
This week is gonna be insane and busy I feel. :/ Cause MATTY NATHANSON on TUESDAY NIGHT in NYC. Wednesday, I have a HUGE Italian test and I have to go and get my passport(I forgot that Monday is Columbus Day so the Post Office won't be open - grr). And then on Saturday, I'm going to the city with Stefanie again. lol I'm addicted!!
Okay. Time to sleeeeeeeeeep. |

Just watched 13 Going on 30 with Stefanie. I know what you're thinking - "Heather, why? Why would you do such a thing?" Well, kiddies, because Heather's getting her period and was in the 'I need to watch a cheesy romantic comedy and feel bad about myself' type of mood. Annnnnnnnd Mark Ruffalo can have his way with me any day of the week. mmm mmm mmm. Puuuurdy. The movie was stupid like I thought it would be. But I got my fix and I'm totally soaking up the feeling bad for myself after effects of the utter improbable cheesiness of it all. It's like a drug, maaaan.
I'm in a weird mood.
I was a total fat kid today. Stefanie and I went to Coldstone for ice cream after classes (and before dinner lol). Then, we got pizza for dinner. :\ Ah well.
I got my passport photos done tonight, but the stupid post office at the mall doesn't do passports after 6pm. And the other post office near the school doesn't do them after 5pm. Grr. On Monday, I'm gonna try again at the mall. I just want to get all the paperwork and crap over with.
Speaking of something having to do with going to Venice, I got my letter of rec from Prof. Braun last night before class. It's such a nice letter. Aww. I love that man.
I like Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays. I have 2 classes with the same kid that I have developed a weird little crush on. Yeah. Plus, the one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays has not only him, but another cute boy for me to stare at. You know, so basically the class consists of me staring at one until he notices and I have to pretend I was looking at the ceiling or excerising my neck, and then I switch to the other until he, in turn, notices. Cycle continues until the class is over. Yeah. It's cool to be pathetic. Go me. Wow, I'm hopeless. If I were a real girl, I'd probably attempt to talk to either guy, but no. Whatever. It's cool being socially, emotionally, and sexually retarded.
Still have no idea what the plans are for Saturday/Sunday with my bro and his gf.
I don't wanna learn tm. Except for Film Authorship and maybe Italian, my other classes this semester are painfully boring. Painfully. Urgh. |

I've become obsessed with watching movies on HBO. Well, maybe it's too soon to use such a strong word as obsessed. On Sunday, I watched The Rainmaker and Runaway Jury (I guess they were having some kind of John Grisman day or something). Then, today I watched Down with Love. All movies I've seen before. And watching movies on TV is BAD because of "pan and scanning" (aka- they aren't widescreen). But I just can't stop, man. lol I'm so bored most of the time. And it's better than sitting in front of the computer screen for hours (my eyes hate me).
But yeah, I'm bored a lot. I don't really have much to do for classes. Some reading here and there. And I'm usually all caught up on everything. I do have a paper for Film Authorship I can start on, but I'm waiting til Wednesday's class to get more info on what he wants for that and when it's due, cause it doesn't say on the syllabus.
I think I'm gonna rent a bunch of movies when we go to Blockbuster on Thursday and keep myself stocked up for the week. Might as well be productive and watch movies I haven't seen yet with the time I'm wasting. Thursday, I'm also going to get my passport photos and hopefully the post office will still be open so that I could get my application out in the mail.
My brother and his girlfriend are coming on Saturday. They are staying for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday at 11:59pm, we're gonna be seeing the film House of Flying Daggers at the NYC Film Fest at Lincoln Center. And then I believe they got us tickets to see the play Reckless for a Sunday matinee, but that might be Saturday too, I'm not sure. I haven't heard from him yet, so I don't know the plans. So, at least I have a busy weekend ahead of me.
I went to the second meeting for Venice tonight. It was looong. But I'm still super excited. I handed in my $100 non-refundable deposit. So, it's pretty much offical that I'm going. I'm gonna room with Lindsey. Her roommate isn't gonna go now, so we're gonna room together.
I feel awful cause my cousin wanted to go to London this May, but I just can't afford it this year. I want to go there more than anything, but it's just not a good time for me, esp since I'm gonna be going to Italy in January and I'll hopefully have an intership this summmer and that might start right after school is out. I told her that next year I definitely think we should go, but she seems upset. :(
My 21st birthday is less than a month away. :\
List of Exiciting Things to Look Forward to: House of Flying Daggers @ the NY Film Fest - Oct 9 Reckless (Broadway play) - Oct 10 Matt Nathanson concert - Oct 12 NYC for the day with Stefanie - Oct 16 MY 21st B-DAY!! - Nov 3 Kasey Coming to Visit - Nov 12-14 Home for Thanksgiving Break - Nov 25-27 Home for Christmas Vacation - around Dec 17th (after finals) and then until I leave for Italy Venice, Italy!! - Jan 1-23

In short: Sucky seat. I was in the first row of the Upper Balcony this time. Oh, how I missed that 8th row seat from last night. However, MUCH better concert than last night.
In long: Ryan once again played with the opening band (Ollabelle http://ollabellemusic.com/), but only for a few songs tonight. They were good stuff again. Still want their CD, but it will have to wait I guess.
Ryan was no where near as stoned or drunk as last night. He still seemed self-concious though. When he came out, he was all business. lol He played solo acoustic for the first 6 songs. He said nothing at all the whole time, going right from song to song. Mmm, he played some good shit too. His voice sounded awesome.
Then, the band came out. He got a bit more talkative. He told jokes such as: 'why does the ocean never want to go on dates?...its sick of the beach.' 'what is a sharks favorite dessert?...octopi.' and 'why doesn't darth vador drink milk?....he is intergalactose intolerant.' LoL He talked about trying to TiVo the presidential debate. lol He made fun of people who talk shit about him: "Ahh. I can see it now. '*pretending to type* Ryan's stage antics were the same tonight. Ryan is so pretentious, blah blah blah... *pretending to eat* cheetos, cheetos, cheetos'" LoL And some girl gave him a rose. Awww.
The crowd was much better tonight too I thought.
I guess the reason why Ryan didn't play any of this faster, harder paced is because he doesn't want to aggrivate his wrist. Cause it would have been cool to hear 'So Alive,' 'Starting to Hurt,' and so on. Ah well.

Oh Ryan. Ohhhh Ryan.
So, I got the Beacon Theatre about 15 minutes before the show, which was nice cause I didn't have to hang around too long and I wasn't late. I HAD AN AWESOME SEAT!!!! I wish I had a fucking camera. GRRR. Anycrap, I'm sitting there and 3 guys sit down 2 rows ahead of me. I was like, OMG! It was Alfredo and Ryan that I know from back home. It was so random! haha I yelled, "Alfredo!" He turned around and was like, "Ha! we have better seats then you!" and I said, "Yeah by like 2 rows only!" LoL Gotta love randomness.
The opening act was Ollabelle. (http://ollabellemusic.com/) They were like gospel, but not. I actually really enjoyed them. Ryan played with them, and what I thought was really cool was that he totally didn't bring any attention to himself at all. He stayed toward the back, had on a hat that he tried to make cover his face a little, and he faced the side and back of the stage a lot. And when the band introduced each themselves by name they called him Elijah Green or something like that. Most of the audience had no clue it was really Ryan. I thought that was cool that he didn't want to take any attention away from them and just wanted to chill and play with them. Kudos, Ryan.
On a horny girly note: Ryan was wearing nice tight bellbottom jeans. Mmmm. Yeah. Very nice assage tonight. Mmmmmmmm.
*coughs* Sorry bout that. haha
Anyway, Ryan and his band The Cardinals came out a bit after the opening band finished. It was a really weird show to me. I wasn't expecting it to be like it was I guess. It was reeeeally mellow, like an acousitc show most of the time. That's not a bad thing though, cause I LOVE me acoustic. Ryan was uber stoned and pretty goddamn drunk. He babbled and talked a lot. It was obvious that he was REALLY REALLY self-concious, which I guess maybe that's why the show felt kinda weird to me. Oh, and the sound system didn't sound very good. I don't know what it was. I'm interested to see if the show will feel the same way tm night, or if it's different in anyway.
Random Funny Ryan ramblings that I will try to relate as accurately as possible for you:
~ Ryan stops in the middle of a song and says to people trying to find their seats: "Hey, there's four seats right up here. I'd take those."
~ He told a long story(if you ever heard a stoned person try to tell a story - it's funny - so picture him trying to tell this story) about how he was really high before the show and decided it would be fun to ride random subways, but then he got lost. Then he went on and on about some random things, and then remembered he had a point the the story he started telling in the first place. LoL So, this guy was staring at him and Ryan was like: "I wanted to go up to him and ask him where the fuck I had to go to get back to Beacon, but I was like, 'Damnit he's sooo gonna know I'm stoned!' and I got really shy and self-concious about myself. But then he came over to me and was like, 'Hey, aren't you Ryan Adams? I'm gonnna be at your show tonight!' And I said, 'So am I!' and then I realized that that was a stupid thing to say. Like I just wanted to make him rest assured that I would be there too. And then I said, 'Actually, if you really want me to be at the show tonight, you'll show me how to get there.'" LOL So I guess the guy showed Ryan to the theatre, and Ryan thanked him wherever he was in the audience. LoL
~ Girl yells: "I wanna have your baby!!" Ryan: "No. No, you don't. Trust me."
~ Ryan: "Check out this guy in the 2nd row. He has fucking binoculars. What the fuck, man? I'm right here. I'd say give them to me, but I don't have any hot nieghbors to spy on. Well, I do have one. But my hot neighbor is my girlfriend, so I don't need binoculars. *laughs mockingly*"
~~SETLIST with my comments on some of the songs~~
With Band 1 To Be Young 2 Anybody Wanna Take Me Home 3 Love is Hell 4 Please Do Not Let Me Go 5 Winding Wheel/dio - last in line (one verse) 6 Chin up, Cheer up **Yummy** 7 La Cienega Just Smiled After this song Ryan was like, "Wow, that sounded fucking awful. I'm sorry. I have to redeem myself so I'm gonna play that song again, but by myself. It wasn't the band's fault. The sound just sucks." 8 La Cienega Just Smiled (Acoustic) Beautiful. But funny, cause come on, he was playing the same song again. He even stopped and laughed at some points too. lol 9 Sweet Carolina **Yummy** again. 10 Stars Go Blue Heather gets a boner.
Solo Ryan seemed most self-concious playing these new songs. 11 New Song - Nightbirds (on piano) Heather continues to be erect during this song. Sooooooooo beautiful. Just Ryan on the piano. Mmmm. Great new song too. After he was done, he keep saying how he was sorry that he sucked and that the song sucked. 12 New Song - I Will Learn to Love (guitar) THE SWEETEST PART OF THE SHOW!!!! Before the song, Ryan said, "This one goes out to my boo." Awwwwwwww. And it's the sweetest song ever too. I can't wait til he records and releases it. *sigh* 13 I Still Miss Someone (Johnny Cash Cover?) 14 Last Nite (The Strokes Cover?)"
Encore (With Band Again) 15 Don't Even Know Her Name 16 Harder Now That It's Over 17 New York, New York (Acoustic) 18 Come Pick Me Up I hate myself cause I didn't rush the stage!!!!! GRRRR!! REGRET!! :( So, Ryan started singing and a random girl got up on stage, followed by many other people. And the sercurity people ran out and tried to throw them off the stage, but Ryan was like, "No NO no!! It's okay. Let them stay. I don't care. Leave them alone!" Like 100 ppl ran up on stage. Ryan tried to keep playing the song and have everyone up there sing the chorus, but it got overwhelming and Ryan had to be escorted backstage by the sercurity guys. LOL It was quite something.
Overall, I loved the show. It was definitly different, but I liked. I need me a boy that sings and plays piano and geetar. *sigh* It was a little sad to me seeing Ryan so high and drunk though, cause I'm a dork and all. I mean, I guess if he wasn't he'd be too self-consicous to play anything at all though, cause I'm sure being under the influence helped him get over some of that.
I bought a t-shirt for only $20 (Ryan designed it). I didn't like the tour shirt, so I just got a regular one. I made some voice notes on my phone of clips of a few of the songs too. Ahh memories. I wanted to buy the opening band's CD, but I restained myself cause I'm poor. lol
Well. That's that. I'm sooo tired and I have classes and work tm before going to the concert. Urgh. Heather go sleepy now.
RYAN AGAIN TM NIGHT!! YAYAY!! (I hope they have the sound fixed and sounding better.) |

I'm feeling crappy - physically and emotionally.
It sounds like the people upstairs or wherever the hell they are are having fucking dance party usa upstairs. Urgh. Must be nice to not care about school or not have any work to do ever that you can party and be a drunken dick on a Tuesday night.
School is school. Slow. Boring. I always feel like my time could be better spent not in class, but then I get out of class and there's really nothing exciting for me to be doing. Such is life. I should become a superhero by night. That'll liven things up - what with ridding the universe of evil scum, how could one ever get bored? Watch out!
I'm like all caught up on my schoolwork up to Friday. Score one for the losers with no lives!! Yeah, so nothing really exciting happening in other words.
T minus 1 day til Ryan Adams!! Yay!
shutterbug12: " Hey I can't talk b/c I'm going to sleep, but just wanted to check in and tell ya that you're cool. Smile. And people can only wish they were as great a person as you. :-) "
~~~~ Thank you so much, Pam! You have no idea how much I needed that right at that moment. :o) ~~~~ |
